Rules
The following are basic rules, each event subject to change.
RULE BOOK: Governed by the AMA Sports Rule Book. Supplemental rules may apply.
AGE REQUIREMENTS: The age of the rider is determined by the date of the event, except in youth competition. A youth rider's age as Nov. 1 will determine his/her age for the event. A referee or clerk may request a rider's proof of age. Age requirements for all classes as follows.
- 50cc: 4-8 years of age
- 65cc: 7-11 years of age
- 85cc: 7-15 years of age
- 250: Minimum 12 years of age
- 450: Minimum 14 years of age
ENGINE DISPLACEMENT: No engine displacement larger than 250cc 2-stroke or 450cc 4-stroke allowed to compete.
NUMBER PLATES:
- Must be readable and on all three sides of machine
MINICYCLES: All Minicycle class machines must be run in the class for which they were originally manufactured, excluding the Schoolboy class.
